In Natchitoches Parish a tornado has caused a lot of damage. A family now faces the worst possible situation. They need to rebuild their childhood home, which was destroyed by the tornado. GoFundMe is where they are seeking help.
Veronica Johnson, two minutes after she received warning signals, at 2:30pm, received a message from her daughter: “Mama I need to go to my house.” Her daughter and grandson were trapped in her camper.
Johnson said that as she went out to assist, she found herself facing a wall of solid water.
Johnson said, “I could not get to my granddaughter; trees were crackling around me, debris was flying and the camper lifted up. It’s as if God’s hand pushed down a tree on top to tell her, ‘No, don’t go anywhere.’ This saved both Johnson’s grandson and his baby.”
Johnson and his four daughters were all safe. No one was hurt, except for the tornado, which took away everything.

Leblanc created a GoFundMe page for her family. She said, “Our family has owned our house for over 70 years. It was built by both my Poppie (grandpa) and great pawpaw.
She described the damage as “the whole roof of our house, camper (most everything inside there, table, fridge, windows total), chicken coops, doghouses, and damages to vehicles”.
The National Weather Service has said that this was the worst situation they had ever encountered, according to the family. On Monday, an electrician will restore the power at the home, but they have to find a solution to the problem until then.
The family is assessing the damages and they find that a tree has fallen on their house, the chicken coop was destroyed, the generator no longer works, as well as three rooms leaking.
If everyone sent just a dollar that would be a great help. Johnson said that it would be a great help.
